This major assignment was given to me by one of my coworkers, annalia Young. She wanted the Dominican Sisters' newsletter to get a design update, as she felt it would be a good segway for the tail end of the year. She gave me specific instructions on what articles and content she wanted to have in the newsletter, and I took a look at their past newsletter designs before creating a few different drafts for her to choose from in Constant contact.
I also edited quite a few photos in photoshop, including the "New lEADERSHIP", "Formation of future leaders", and "partners in mission" collages, the Laudato si picture, and The "Missionary Disciples" pictures. Coming up with these two different layouts took a while, as I was trying to stay on brand while also trying to invent a new look.
After receiving feedback from annalia on the design that she preferred, I began to make some adjustments to it.
Once she sent over more edits, I decided to dramatically make changes to the newsletter to make it seem a bit more unique. The olive branch element was scattered throughout the newsletter in certain graphics, such as the note from sister celeste, the articles on Sister Angela Tran and Chiapas, the assembly highlights and announcements, and the final divider. The light green was chosen for the smaller articles to show that they were their own sub-stories. I also began coding the HTML pages for the articles, and uploaded the zip files of the html to the shared Google Drive for them to upload to their site.
MOre edits were sent over for both the newsletter and the HTML pages, and I adjusted them accordingly.
After receiving the final batch of edits from Annalia, I landed on the final design of the newsletter for both the constant contact template (see below photo gallery) and the html pages. I also updated One of the photo collages in photoshop ("Missionary Disciples") and uploaded them to constant contact.
