For women in Construction week, i was assigned the task of creating a video collage showcasing women in Granite. This was already a big challenge, as i didn't have that much experience with in-depth video editing prior to this assignment.
the next step was determining the song choice. I wanted a song that could feel motivational and strong. Once I landed on the right one, I Began to sort through the submissions we received. Some of them had to be edited in Photoshop, in accordance to our safety guidelines.
With the help of countless YouTube tutorials and the guidance of my coworkers, I managed to come up with a few drafts. However, the file was taking forever to render in media encoder, since there was a lot of layers of animation in after effects. The other problem was that I was also adjusting and editing the photo submissions we received in Photoshop, along with working on the video.
I decided to chunk out time between working on the collage and editing the pictures, which made my workflow a lot smoother.
After finding what I was looking for and going through a cycle of editing, exporting, and having my coworkers review the drafts in frame.io, I finally ended up with a short-form video with a run time of 57 seconds.
