The task for this project was given to us by one of the motion designers for the san Jose sharks, Jamie. He asked us to use after effects to animate the wallpapers we had previously worked on in photoshop.
The guidelines we were given for this project were to make the animation anywhere between two to ten seconds long, and to use whatever we felt worked to make our wallpaper come alive.
I wanted to utilize both the strong aesthetic you normally see in an animation for professional sports, along with incorporating in elements related to the sharks themselves. The most difficult part of this entire project was waiting for the effects to render out during playback to see if they were working the exact way I wanted them to.
It took quite a lot of minor adjustments and small tweaks, but what i finally landed on is what you see below.
