The very first few projects that were given to me by my boss, Stephan Pippen, were to design some web banners for the dOMINICAN sISTERS' WEBSITE.
The first web banner assignment was to create a web banner that would take the user to a link where they would be able to view the Spring 2023 edition of In Common Magazine.
After looking at their existing web banners, I came up with some varying drafts, which you can see below.
They liked the third design, but wanted to change the text slightly and have the word "here" italicized so the users on the website would be able to tell that the image had an external link to lead to where they were trying to get to. After a few more updates to the draft, I Landed on the final design (see below).
This Web banner is currently still live on their site, and is the fourth image in the rotating carousel.
For the second web banner, they were looking for a redesign of an advertisement for an upcoming retreat.
Stephan wanted something that would be easier to read, as well as a graphic that would match the others in the current rotating carousel on the site.
After being given those directions, I came up with the two drafts you see below -- one with a solid color background, and one with the circular graphic element that could be seen in the rest of their existing graphics.
Stephan liked the one that had the circular element in it, and so that was the final draft for said graphic.
Unfortunately, It is no longer on the website, as the event has passed.
